Location: Chancery Lane, London (Hybrid – 3 days in the office: Tuesday, Thursday, plus one other of your choice)
Salary: £50,000 - £65,000 (open to £70,000+ for exceptional candidates)

About the Firm
A globally recognised law firm are seeking a Finance Systems Analyst to join their Finance team, reporting to the Financial and Commercial Controller. This standalone role will provide vital support in managing and enhancing the firms Aderant finance system. The successful candidate will also deliver reporting and analytics, support strategic finance decisions, and play a key role in system upgrades and improvements.

Key Responsibilities

• Practice Management System (Aderant)


• Maintain and improve the Aderant system, covering time, billing, expenses, general ledger, and reporting.


• Manage the firm’s relationship with Aderant and oversee system upgrades.


• Train new joiners and provide ongoing system training.


• Maintain user security, access, and administration.


• Troubleshoot system queries and manage month-end system close processes.


• Update monthly exchange rates and ensure financial data integrity.

Reporting & Analysis

• Develop complex reports using SQL, SSRS, and other reporting tools.


• Maintain and enhance the firm’s SSRS reporting suite.


• Compile and analyse financial data to support strategic decision-making.


• Assist in developing financial reports to enhance transparency for stakeholders.


• Track pricing, budgeting, and fee estimates across the firm.


• Monitor time-recording policy compliance and escalate issues where necessary.


• Contribute to expanding reporting capabilities, including data cubes and BI dashboards.

Additional Responsibilities

• Act as a key contributor to finance projects and firm-wide system improvements.


• Support finance functions and provide backup where needed.


• Work closely with the Finance Director, CEO, and Financial Controller on financial insights.

Key Requirements

• Essential: Prior experience with Aderant (does not need to be recent but must have been used in a previous role).


• 24+ months of experience in a similar role within a legal or professional services finance environment.


• Strong understanding of finance systems and multi-currency environments.


• Advanced analytical skills and ability to convert raw data into actionable insights.


• Experience in SQL, SSRS, and financial reporting.


• Strong Excel skills and a keen eye for detail.


• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.


• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
